If it weren't for the tomatoes, my garden would be a total bust. Not enough attention and too many sunovabitchin bugs killed my dream of a garden bursting with so much produce I don't know what to do.
But...on the bright side I have bushels of 'maters just dying to turn red...or yellow. I bought some heirloom plants from my local Farmers Market. Red Stripe, Cherokee Purple, and some yellow thing I can't remember the name of.

Paula's Pie
As in Paula Deen.
My father-in-law brought this to dinner last night.
Oh. Momma. It was so good. Icy and limey and somehow, refreshing.
We kept the leftovers...

Waterbabies
Seeing my girls love the water makes me giddy. And it makes me miss my Grandma. Man, she would have been crazy for these girls.

Bedfellows
“Here, Mommy. Here.” Lovie pushes her pillow onto my legs. Moments later, “Here, Mommy. Here.” Up comes her blanket. She goes to the end of the bed and pulls herself up, then crawls to the spot I have arranged her “poo-oh” and “ban-tet”.
I love sharing bed space with my girls. I always joke that I’ve created a monster, because Lovie was so small when I started letting her sleep with us. I knew I wasn’t “supposed” to, but I just couldn't make myself care.
I’ve always worked full time and the hours away from my girls just kills me. I am away from them so much, it just feels right to have them close during those dark, quiet hours.
I’ve always worked full time and the hours away from my girls just kills me. I am away from them so much, it just feels right to have them close during those dark, quiet hours.
Some days, when I’m feeling a little sleep deprived from uncomfortable sleeping positions, I tell myself it’s time to move those girls into their own beds, in their own room. Oh, did I forget to mention Lovie has a toddler bed in our room? Well, she does. And Tootsie sleeps in a bassinet right next to me. So, I sometimes think about how I should get them in their own room, in their own beds. But feel extreme stress and anxiety about how the hell am I going to convince them they belong in there and not in here?
And then, when I tell myself that I don't have to and that I can completely ignore that item on my grand-plan list of stuff I need to do, I feel such relief.
They rarely sleep a full night in their own beds. That's how we do it, bro.
